Marios Argiros is a Senior Intermediate Level 1 Iyengar Teacher who combines teaching yoga with his work as a Classical musician. He came to yoga originally through neck and back problems he had been unable to solve with other therapies and found that Iyengar Yoga had a transforming effect on his life. He has studied and practised yoga for many years and completed his teacher training at the Manchester and District Iyengar Yoga Institute. He makes regular visits to India to study with the Iyengar family at the Ramamani Memorial Institute in Pune, and has also studied with such eminent teachers as Jeanne Maslen and Jawahar Bangera. He teaches regular classes at the Manchester and Sheffield Iyengar Yoga Institutes and in his own studio in the Peak District, and in addition works with many performers, using yoga to reduce tension, build strength and improve breath control and focus in their work. In 2005 he began teaching yoga holidays in Crete, the fulfilment of a long-held dream. Marios is fully insured and qualified to a level which enables him to undertake remedial work with injuries and chronic conditions, and finds that these students benefit enormously from the precision of Iyengar Yoga. |
